On most iPads the glass and the LCD are separate parts. If the display underneath is healthy, we replace only the digitizer, which costs less and keeps the original screen.

The LCD or the display cable has failed, often after a drop on a corner. On iPad Pro and newer Air models the glass and LCD are one assembly.
